Chainstitch is a type of embroidery that comes to life using hand-operated vintage machines. There is no digital component, which means each stitch is placed by the movement of the operators hand. Think painting with thread!
Chainstitch lends itself well to customization, in that the artist has the ability to realize the detail in any design. It is a durable, long lasting, and retro way to embellish fabrics. Since it is all done by hand, it is a labor intensive art form but we love every second!

The best items to chainstitch on are made of durable, medium to heavy weight fabrics.
Nothing too lightweight or stretchy. It’s always best to let us know what you’re thinking of working with during the inquiry stage, so we know how to best customize it for you.

We are based in Los Angeles but we love to travel! Feel free to inquire about our rates for outside of LA County or even out of the state.

As a sustainable company, we do not keep stock of any new product. Because of this we prefer that you provide products like tote bags, bandanas, or anything you would like us to stitch on at your event. We are happy to advise you about products that have been a success at past events or to source products for you if you can allocate a bit of extra time and funds.

Not at all! Here at Psychic Stitch, we love to explore and push the limits. We are open to customizing home goods, wall hangings, accessories, and more! Send any ideas our way and we’ll figure it out.

That being said, we have a huge range of prices that depend on on the complexity of design, the number of colors and the size of the piece. All these factors determine how many hours of work will be needed to make your beautiful artwork! Please provide as much info as you can in your custom order form so that we can give you an accurate estimate. We'll always give you options within your budget!

All of our embroidery is done manually on our vintage machines. We will give you an estimated turn around based on the complexity of the artwork you are ordering.
Need something done urgently? We will charge a rush fee and get your artwork finished ASAP.

We will always confirm that your embroidery art is exactly right before putting the needle to the fabric. Once an item has been stitched on it can not be returned.*

Feel free to send artwork that is not your own as inspiration for your piece. However, we can not replicate any artwork that is copyrighted or that you do not have the rights to use.
